Imran Khan refuses to visit IDPs camp with PM Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Thursday rejected to pay visit with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Bannu.

Pakistan’s PM Nawaz Sharif had offered PTI chief Imran Khan for joining him on visit to Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province on June 27.

Sources said that Imran Khan has rejected the offer because of his schedule to address his party’s public gathering decided on the same date in Bahawalpur city in Punjab.

Khan stated that he had visited the IDPs camp established at Bannu district earlier and showed willingness to concentrate on his party-led upcoming political gathering after formal announcement of campaign against federal government of Pakistan.

Earlier, Pakistani authorities had announced to start efforts for provision of relief to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) after commencement of large-scale military operation in tribal parts.

According to the Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON)’s statement, approximately Rs14 million has also been disbursed for facilitating the displaced nationals. Moreover, family food baskets were also being distributed amongst IDPs with assistance of World Food Programme.
