ABBOTABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Fareed Abbasi has won the seat PK-45 in Abbotabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to unauthorized results of 109 polling stations, Fareed has received 28,127 votes whereas his strongest competitor in the area, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Ali Asghar, got only 21,385 votes.
The seat was vacant after PML-N’s Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi was upgraded to the post of governor.
After unofficial results, PML-N workers and supporters celebrated the victory.
The total number of registered voters in the constituency was 18,745 and 109 polling stations were set up for voting.
Seven candidates were running for the seat but real competition was among KP Governor’s brother, PML-N’s Sardar Fareed and PTI’s Ali Asghar Khan.
