LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Friday has given 24-hour deadline to law enforcement authorities to arrest the suspects involved in Farzana Iqbal’s murder case.
On Wednesday, Farzana was stoned to death by her brothers in front of Lahore High Court for marrying her lover.
Sharif said occurrence of such incidents in presence of police is saddening.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took notice of the incident yesterday and directed CM Punjab to submit detailed report.
The victimized woman Farzana was from Faisalabad and she married Iqbal without the consent of her family.
She was attacked with bricks by her brothers when she came up for hearing of case in the court.
The suspects were already waiting for the arrival of their sister and managed to escape after the murder.
According to doctors, the cause of death was severe head injury.
