RAWALPINDI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Siraj-ul Haq on Sunday said that former military dictator Pervez Musharraf’s illness is ‘political’ not real.
He added that the government had failed to produce Pervez Musharraf in court as an offender.
Addressing a public gathering in Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh, the newly elected JI chief reiterated that peace talks should continue with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), but he insisted that arguments should be countered with arguments, not bullets.
Haq said that his party would help the oppressed people of Pakistan to get their rights as five percent elite is ruling the country exploiting 95 percent masses.
“Pakistan is not only facing with armed insurgency, it was confronting political and economic terrorism,” he said.
The new JI chief said that those who want to make Pakistan a secular state were living in fool’s paradise.
“We cannot secure votes due to a faulty electoral system,” he opined.
