ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has dismissed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s petition against appointment of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry on Friday.
A three-member bench of the SC headed by Justice Nasir-Ul-Mulk was hearing the petition.
During the hearing, opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Khursheed Shah’s counsel Aitazaz Ahsan argued that the opposition leader supported the appointment of NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry and the petition was not hearable and there was no any legal basis in the petition against the appointment of Chairman NAB.
If Imran Khan wanted to change then he should come through with legislation in the NA, Aitzaz argued.
After hearing both the sides arguments the SC accepted opposition leader counsel arguments and dismissed the petition presented by Imran Khan.
