LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Wednesday has given a verdict regarding removal of conditional security barriers from Model Town area of Lahore.
Residents of model town had filed a petition to remove barriers from the area as the extra security created problems for the natives.
Justice Shahid Hameed Dar was hearing the case.
During the hearing, Justice Shahid said that no one has permission to harass people in the name of security and he ordered that the local administration issue special stickers for the local men.
All the residents of the area should get special stickers which will allow them to move in and out easily, the court ordered.
He further said that the government should have consulted residents of the locality before putting extra barriers.
Government of Punjab had put barriers in the area for the security of Shahbaz Sharif but they ended up being troublesome for the residents of the locality.
