ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Commission has approached Supreme Court for more time to complete the delimitations of electoral constituencies in provinces.

The ECP has prayed the court to review its verdict in local bodies election case, adding that 6 months time should be given to ECP for delimitations instead of the 45 days.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had ordered the provincial to make legislation for delimitation of the constituencies in five months. As per the decision, the ECP was directed to complete the process in 45 days.
The ECP has pleaded to the Supreme Court to grant six months time instead of 45 days to conduct delimitation process.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Supreme Court had ordered the ECP to hold local bodies elections till November 15.
The SC had given the delimitation powers to ECP.
