ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s federal government has finally filled vacant post of Inspector General (IG) Police of Sindh as appointed Iqbal Mehmood on Monday.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approved the appointment of Iqbal Mehmood, who was performing his duties as acting IG Sindh, while formal notification has also been released.
Mehmood was earlier promoted to acting IG Sindh position when he was serving as Additional Inspector General of Crime Investigation Department (CID).
The promotion was made following retirement of Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police Shahid Nadeem Baloch, Mehmood while he took charge as acting IG on February 20 of current year.
Severe differences were emerged between the Sindh and federal governments over the nomination for the post which put the appointment in delay for a long time.
