RIO DE JANEIRO: Pakistani team of young street footballers beat Mauritius in a Street Child World Cup (SCWC) match here on Thursday.
The young street footballers from Pakistan beat Mauritius 3-0.
This is Pakistan’s third consecutive win after the team beat Kenya 2-0 and India 13-0 and till now dominates Group Three.
None of Pakistan’s opponents managed to score a goal against the team as the defence is too strong.
In a country where football is not a favourite game and the national team is far away from making into FIFA World Cup, this is an extra ordinary achievement from poor street kids.
This is the first time Pakistan are participating in the SCWC 2014.
In Pakistan, the SCWC is collaborating with the Azad Foundation along with British Council and Unicef.
The SCWC is featuring 20 teams. The event aims to provide an identity to street children all over the world.
