KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s rabita (co-ordination) committee repeated their chief’s allegation of a ‘death squad’ in Karachi Police against party workers of ‘Mohajir’ ethnicity.
Speaking to media during an emergency press conference at party headquarters, MQM RC member Haider Abbas Rizvi alleged that some racist and narrow minded police officers are involved in extra judicial killings of party workers in the name of Karachi operation like the incident in Gharo today where MQM workers Sanaullah and Mansoor were brutally killed and their bodies thrown away.
He said that such elements have formed a ‘death squad’ of plain clothes policemen who are kidnapping MQM workers and killing them outside Karachi.
Rizvi urged the Human Rights organisations to speak up against injustices meted out during the targeted operation in Karachi adding that MQM wants peace in the city.
The press conference was called after MQMÂ after the bodies of slain MQM workers were recovered from Gharo district of Sindh.
The bodies were identified as of MQM workers Sanaullah and Mansoor.
