LAHORE: Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed said that the ban on ‘Youtube’ will be lifted soon in Pakistan while adding that software to block ‘objectionable content’ on the site is ready.
Speaking to senior journalists here Sunday, Rashid said responsibilities of provincial governments have increased for restoration of peace in the country. The minister added that the government is playing its role to deal with those elements wishing to impose their agenda on others.
The Minister called for concerted and collective efforts to tackle the issue of terrorism as the extremist way of thinking is against democracy‚ the government and the media.
He added that the government wants to ensure protection of journalists as they are playing an important role in the war against terrorism.
Pervez Rashid said the media should keep in view Pakistani culture and act with more responsibility by following its own code of ethics when showing foreign programs.
