KARACHI: Special report submitted by Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Shahid Hayat revealed that 115 officers has been charged with disciplinary violations during ongoing targeted operation in the metropolis.
The report was submitted in the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan following its order to produce action details from AIG Karachi over concerns of negligence in Karachi operation after hearing of law and order implementation case.
According to report’s details revealed via local news channel, at least 115 officers of law enforcement and intelligence agencies faced disciplinary actions by higher authorities.
Strict punishments were given to 46 investigative officers while 69 officials received minor punishments over negligence in Karachi operation.
Show cause notices were sent to 35 officials of Crime Investigation Department (CID) in the recent action taken by AIG Karachi.
