MIRANSHAH: Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) head Mullah Fazlullah said on Monday that it is Pakistan’s government that should take initiative to restore peace dialogue with his banned organisation.
The hardline TTP leader once known as Mullah Radio said that TTP was and is always ready for peace talks with Pakistan’s government.
The statement came on Pakistani media amid an on-going military operation against the militant organisation which recently killed one of its top leader Asmatullah Shaheen Bhatti.
Fazlullah is heading TTP since 7 November 2013 when he was elected by the Pakistani Taliban as its new chief, succeeding Hakimullah Mehsud who was killed in a U.S. drone strike.
