Google is celebrating the 150th birthday of Banjo Paterson, prominent Australian Author, Poet and Journalist, with an interactive doodle.
Banjo Paterson was born near Orange, New South Wales when Australia were still part of the British Empire on the 17th of February 1864 and passed away in Sydney Australia at the age of 76.
His poems and literature works focused mainly on the rural and outback areas of Australia like Binalong in New South Wales.
He is most remembered for his Poems like “The man from SnowyRiver”, “Clancy of the Overflow” and my favorite “Waltzing Matilda”.
What doodle tells?
The Google Doodle today February 17, 2014 portrays the poem in a beautiful way showing The man from SnowyRiver chasing down a steep hill after the wild horses.
The poem by Banjo Paterson have also been made into a movie (Also one of my all-time favorite old movies) – A man from Snowy river.
