KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced a nationwide series of protests aginst the extra judicial killings and arrests of its party workers as their ultimatum for the release and production of activists ended today.
Party will start its gradual protest against the government and law enforcement agencies from senate on Thursday and then the process will continue till the release of their party workers who are missing or in custoday of intelligence agencies and LEAs ,as announced in a joint declaration by party’s Rabita committee
The declaration says that the party will take all legal and constitutional measures to stop what they called ‘witch-hunting’ of party workers in Karachi operation.
MQM had previously given the government an ultimatum to release their workers and activists or produce them in court but after getting assurances from Chief Minister Sindh and Governor of the province they have resorted to protests.
It must be noted that MQM has been protesting about the issue since their party worker Fahad Aziz’s arrest and brutal torture by police on his wedding day while MQM chief Altaf Hussain urged President, Prime Minister, Chief of Army Staff and DG ISI to help recover missing party workers and stop injustices.
