LAHORE: Najam Sethi will head Pakistan Cricket Board once again as the ad hoc committee formed after Zaka Ashraf’s removal unanimously voted in favour of the renowned journalist.
A formal notification has been issued to announce the reinstatement.
Ad hoc committee member Shakeel Sheikh has said that they will remove all officials ‘illegally’ appointed during Zaka Ashraf’s tenure like Basit Ali and Amir Sohail.
In the first development, Amir Sohail headed selection committee is dissolved.
While Karachi Region coach Basit Ali has resigned as he knew he was to be removed.
Talking to media, Mr. Sethi said that his first priority will be to make a new PCB constitution and media shouldlisten to him and not his critics besides announcing that the ad hoc committee will meet tomorrow to take necessary decisions.
When a journalist asked him about the ’35 puncture’ issue, he refused to reply by stating that he will not answer political questions.
The eight member ad hoc committee was formed after the government removed the in-office PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf and formed an ad hoc committee to select the chairman and other officials.
