Singapore: Big three included India, Australia and England have now taken control over International Cricket Council (ICC) as South Africa (SA) cheated Pakistan and Sri Lanka by voting for the draft suggested by India.
In the ICC meeting, eight countries out of 10 voted for the big three for their personal interest, while only Pakistan and Sri Lanka stood against the injustice.
According to the draft, new executive committee would be formed and starts working from July this year under the chairmanship of N Srinavasan, who is currently the chairman of the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI).
England Cricket Board (ECB) chairman, Giles Clarke would lead the Finance and commercial committee.
This move further extended the power of big three as they would get the more profit share from the ICC share.
Earlier, the profit share of the ICC divided between all the 10 test nations equally but now the big three nations would get more share and then it would be divided between the seven countries.
As new executive committee would be formed, Pakistan would also get additional $20 million dollar from the ICC.
Experts have the view that now the ICC powers would be reduced and Big three would be more powerful as they would decide the future tour schedule programme and then send it to the ICC.
The experts have also said that India was the first country who invited SA to play cricket in India just after the cricket of SA revived in 1991.
They said the new draft proposal affect the sport and the big three have planned to make significant financial gains and control the working of the ICC to the exclusion of the other members.”
