ISLAMABAD: The Special Court will resume hearing of treason case against former Pakistani President Pervez Muhsaraf on Friday (tomorrow).
The court headed by Justice Faisal Arab would resume hearing of high treason case against former military ruler Parvez Musharraf today (Friday); meanwhile the Police have finalised a compliance report over Pervez Musharraf’s arrest warrant in the treason case.
Inspector General of police will submit the report before the special court today (Friday). On February 3, the former military ruler was served with an arrest warrant by the police at Armed Forces Institution of Cardiology (AFIC) where he is hospitalised.
Since the start of the high treason trial against him, Musharraf has not appeared before the court.
According to sources, Musharraf’s appearance before court is only possible if doctors allow him to leave the hospital.
He was admitted to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology in Rawalpindi after he developed heart problems while being driven to the court.
It is worth mentioning here that the special court had issued bail-able arrest warrant of Musharraf and summoned him in court on Friday. The court had said if Musharraf would fail to appear before court then the non-bailable arrest warrant would be issued.
It is also worth mentioning here that Parvez Musharraf is facing treason charges over his unconstitutional steps of November 3, 2007.
