COLOMBO: Sri Lankan Cricket Board too has rejected the controversial “Big Three” plan after their executive committee objected on International Cricket Conucil (ICC)’s revised proposal .
Executive committee of SLB was firmly of the view that all endeavors should be made to safe guard the current position of Sri Lanka Cricket as a Full Member of the ICC, a privilege in danger if the revamp plan gets passed.
ICC officials have said that all reservations of Srilankan Board will be addressed.
South Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the only three of the 10 ICC full members who are still against the plan, which will next be put on the table at the ICC meeting in Singapore on February 8.
It must be remembered that moves to restructure the ICC to hand power to India, Australia and England, the game’s financial powerhouses, were passed in principle during a board meeting in January in Dubai and requires approval from eight of the 10 ICC members.
