KARACHI: Orangi Town Pilot Project’s (OPP) head of research and training Saleem Alimuddin was injured after unknown people hurled cracker on his vehicle in Qasba Colony area of the city.
Salim Alimuddin was being driven home from his office when unidentified men hurled a low intensity improvised explosive device (IED) called cracker, at his car around 7 pm in Karachi’s Qasba Colony according to a local media channel.
Alimuddin was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries on his upper limb. His condition was described as stable by hospital’s medico-legal officer, Dr Nadeemuddin.
This was the third attack on officials associated with the Orangi Pilot Project.
It is worthy to note that the project’s director Parveen Rehman was killed in a targeted attack in the same area on March 13, 2013.Two months after that attack, the head of OPP’s Baldia office, Abdul Waheed Khan, was also gunned down in Manghopir area.
