ISLAMABAD: The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province, Pervez Khattak, called on the Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad today.Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was also present in the meeting.
CM KPK Pervez Khan Khatak and Senior Minister Sirajul Haq conveyed the recommendations of the Parliamentary Jirga for addressing the economic grievances of KPK. Both presented the recommendations to prime minister for taking steps Council of Common Interests (CCI), National Economic Council (NEC) and 8th National Award. They also requested the interference for ensuring payments of net profit of electricity to KPK.
While showing reservation over the performance of PESCO chief, they informed the prime minister that the PESCO chief was creating problems for the provincial government. They demanded the replacement of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) chief Tariq Sadozai.
The provincial government ensured any possible cooperation for the establishment of peace in tribal areas. Prime minister ensured to compensate the losses of the masses and civil institutions in war against terrorism. Prime minister said he was fully aware that the KPK province was affected from this war. Prime minister accepted the invitation of Peshawar visit and said that he would soon visit Peshawar and will meet with the provincial ministers.
Meanwhile it was agreed in the meeting that strong and pleasant relationship between the provincial and federal governments would be promoted instead of the political differences.
