KARACHI: Karachi City Police Chief Shahid Hayat has said the police would not be demoralized as they believe in rendering sacrifices and the operation against the criminals would not stop despite terror attacks.
In an interview with a private TV channel today, Shahid Hayat said that “the jihad” in the city would continue until the last remaining criminal is arrested.
He said that 90 suspects have been taken into custody following the Landhi incident that left six police personnel dead on Saturday night and the suspects are being interrogated.
The city police chief further said that several criminals released on parole have fled the country. “We will try to have red warrants issued for such criminals.”
Shahid Hayat said that 500 retired officers of Pakistan army have joined police force while 600 more personnel would join soon.
The police chief informed media that Sindh chief minister has approved 400 personnel for anti-encroachment cell.
