MULTAN: Law enforcement agencies have revealed that same type of killing approach has been used in killing of two religious leaders from Sunni and Shia sects.
Allama Shamsur Rehman Mauvia, provincial leader of Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat (ASWJ) previously Sipah Sahaba, and Allama Nasir Abbas of Majlis e Wahdat ul Muslimeen (MWM) were killed in the same style, they revealed.
Shamsur Rehman was gunned down about 10 days ago while Allama Nasir was killed on Sunday.
Both have been shot dead in back with four bullets of Kalashnikov showing an identical firing style.
“It seems that a third party is creating rift among two sects to ignite sectarian violence in the country,” the agencies said.
Meanwhile, funeral prayer of Allama Nasir was offered at Multan’s Shah Shams Tabrez tomb this afternoon.
