D.I. KHAN, KPK: Vote counting is underway after completion of by-polling process on the PK-67 constituency of Dera Ismail Khan while the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate, Ikram Ullah Gandapur, on top against his independent opponent.
Interesting competition was seen today between the electoral opponents as the PTI’s Gandapur has currently secured top in vote count by having 28,073 votes while the independent candidate Fateh Ullah Miankhel having 14,983 votes, unofficial results showed.
The by-election was scheduled on the PK-67 constituency of D.I. Khan located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on the vacant seat of former provincial law minister Israr Ullah Gandapur followed by a fierce suicide bomb attack.
According to the unofficial statistics, the constituency’s area comprising of Kolachi and Darabun Tehsil while at least 108,899 registered voters.
The poll process was disrupted by the incident of a grenade attack, firing by some unidentified miscreants on a polling station which resulted injuring two police officials as well as affected electoral turn-over due to declined law and order situation.
