ISLAMABAD: Emerging talent of cricket, Pakistani fast bowler Bilawal Bhatti is likely to be deducted from Green Shirts’ squad against Sri Lanka as he arrived at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with an expired visa.
Bilawal Bhatti has been restricted in the local hotel at Dubai since Tuesday over travelling into UAE on visa with expired date.
The fast bowler could receive strict consequences by the UAE authorities over violation of the free-port’s entrance regulations, Associated Press reported.
The Pakistan Cricket Board issued an official statement that the issue would be resolved in coming 24 hours, so Bhatti could continue his journey home.
The board added that it has made arrangements for Bhatti to stay at a hotel inside Dubai airport and has applied for a new visa.
The board says Bhatti “inadvertently used his UAE visa to enter Dubai on his way back to Pakistan from South Africa” on Tuesday hence he had failed to update his visa and inform the PCB.
