Karachi: Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry Thursday has expressed displeasure over the failure to present the missing person and ordered the police to produce missing persons otherwise ready for harsh consequesnces .
A five-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, hearing the case at the apex cout’s Karachi Registry. The bench also comprises Justice Jawad S. Khawaja, Justice Mian Saqib, Justice Amir Hani and Justice Aijaz Afzal.
During proceedings, Chief Justice said that if police were unable to produce the missing persons so the court would give order to launch a case against Inspector General FC.
The CJ said that the relatives of missing came Karachi from Balochistan but no government officer gave respect to even meet them.
He observed that the even democratic government has disappointed the people and did not meet the expectations of masses in this regard.
During the hearing, newly selected defense minister Khuwaja Asif said that he would meet the family members of missing person.
He further assured the apex court that the government would produce the missing person in weeks not in month or years.
“It is government’s first priority and responsibility to produce missing person and we are aware of this important responsibility”, Asif said.
