PORT ELIZABETH: Pakistan set 262 runs target against South Africa in 2nd ODI being played at St George’s Park stadium at Port Elizabeth.
Pakistani batting line-up seemed failed when opening batsman Nasir Jamshed clean bowled at only 2 run in first over while Muhammad Hafeez backed to the pavilion in sixth over by scoring only 8 runs.
However, Ahmed Shehzad and Sohaib Maqsood’s collaboration taken out the Pakistani side from trouble; added 124 runs on third wicket.
Batsman and wicket-keeper Umar Akmal helped his team with 42 runs in the total score.
On the event, Pakistani batsman Ahmed Shehzad added 1000 runs in his One Day International (ODI) career as well as completed third ODI century in the same match with his curious and powerful strokes against the World’s strongest bowling attack.
However, Ahmed Shehzad secured 1000 runs by playing 34 matches with 2 centuries and 4 half-centuries during 2009 till 2013 onwards.
Dale Steyn exhibited outstanding performance in the match; took six important wickets in its 9 overs spell while gave only 39 runs to the opponents while Ryan McLaren collected and Imran Tahir collected 2 wickets respectively.
