PESHAWAR: A bid to block drone attacks in the tribal as well as settled areas of the country, Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI)’s sit-in, entering into fifth consecutive day, has started irking some circles.
“The unabated checking of containers have disturbed the Pak-Afghan Transit Trade, which has nothing to do with NATO supply,” said a trader, standing on the side of a line of trucks waiting clearance of the PTI and Jamaat e Islami workers.
Looking visibly worry over long periods of checking, he said that some measures should be taken to ensure smooth flow of containers of the transit trade.
The long queues of heavy vehicles could be seen at the Ring Road of the provincial capital who have to go through checking.
“The long queues and increasing search time is putting extra the burden on the traffic during rush hours,” says a man.
In Peshawar‚ the PTI and Jamat-e-Islami workers have set-up protest camp at Ring Road near Hayatabad toll plaza and they are checking documents of the containers.
Other sit-ins are being held at GT Road at Khairabad Bridge‚ Nowshehra‚ Indus Highway Kohat and Bypass Road Dera Ismail Khan.
