Rawalpindi: Different religious groups have announced to hold protest demonstrations across the country against Rawalpindi bloodshed, wherein 11 people were killed and several others injured.
All the educational institutes in the garrison city would remain closed while a rally would be taken out which would start from Lal Mosque and culminate at the Islamabad’s National Press Club after Friday prayers.
The federal government, following the reports of intelligence agencies, has decided to keep security on a high alert all over the country to avert any untoward incident during the protest demonstrations
Punjab government has decided to deploy army and Rangers personnel for aiding civil administration in sensitive areas of the Rawalpindi. The decision to deploy army in the city was taken in a joint meeting attended by government, army, rangers and police officials. The meeting chalked out comprehensive security plan for Friday and decided to deploy army in the city aimed at averting any untoward incident, an official said.
Ban on pillion riding and gathering of more than five people has also been banned in Faisalabad on Friday while any processions and gatherings have also been prohibited in several cities.
