ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad in press conference said that third element may be involved in Shia Sunni conflict at Rawalpindi.
While talking to media, Sheikh Rasheed indicated that a third element may be involved in Rawalpindi conflict between Sunni and Shia. He said that the security lapse resulted in the upshot of violence in the first month of Islamic calendar.
He said that Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif must take notice and provide affected shopkeepers with all necessary help. He urged that High Court must investigate the incident and also emphasised that religious clerics must also play role for restoration of peace.
Sheikh Rasheed said that there has been no contact with regional administration of Rawalpindi since yesterday. He also criticised police not performing its duties during sectarian clash.
The law enforcement agencies didn’t make use of tear gas to control the situation. He said that CM Punjab must also consider Rawalpindi as his home.
