LAHORE: Prominent Sunni cleric Sahibzada Hamid Raza says that Pakistani Taliban are expected to announce their disarmament.
Referring to his acceptance of word duel with Taliban over armed struggle within a Muslim state, Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chief, however, termed Taliban’s condition for a guarantee from Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as ‘baseless.’
“They are avoiding accepting Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry as solicitor in the battle of argument,” he said.
Sunni Ittehad Council has accepted the challenge from Taliban who say that they will drop their weapons once they are convinced ‘its not right.’
“The government has failed to bring Taliban on table of talk,” Hamid said and added that we had brought Taliban till Lahore.
