NOORISTAN: A split has been witnessed among various factions of Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) over appointment of new Amir Khalid Syed Sajna.
Maulvi Fazlullah, who has a large following from the banned outfit supporters, group has raised objection over the appointment.
The group opposed Sajna in a meeting of its group in Nooristan area.
TTP is comprised of dozens of small and big groups out of which Mehsud Group has the largest share. Maulvi Fazlullah was also a contender for TTP’s new Amir position.
He is considered as a harsh opponent of dialogues with Pakistan authorities to establish peace in the country. He has been living in Afghanistan since operation in Swat by Pakistan Army in 2009.
Contrary, Sajna is reportedly a big supporter of dialogue with the state.
“Even he has convinced Hakimullah Mehsud to hold dialogues with the government.”
Hakimullah Mehsed was killed in a drone strikes of United States soaring the threats of attacks on national assets.
