Washington: Appleās flagship device iPhone 5S faces the battery issues just few mounts after its launch.
Company has confirmed that there is a manufacturing defect on some of its flagship iPhone 5S smartphones.
The company says it’s an isolated issue and is replacing affected handsets. The company’s latest flagship iPhone, the iPhone 5S, has been selling extremely well. In fact, it’s so popular that Apple still can’t make enough of the smartphone to meet demand. Customers that place an order through Apple’s online store for the iPhone 5S are facing a 2 – 3 weeks wait. Even with all its popularity, however, Apple is facing some issues with its latest iPhone.
The New York Times is reporting that Apple has issued a response in regards to some consumers reporting that the iPhone 5S battery drains very quickly and does not hold a charge.
Companyās officials stated that “We recently discovered a manufacturing issue affecting a very limited number of iPhone 5S devices that could cause the battery to take longer to charge or result in reduced battery life,”.
According to The New York Times. “We are reaching out to customers with affected phones and will provide them with a replacement phone.”
Apple did not reveal how many iPhone 5S handsets are facing the issue, but The New York Times said that it was likely affecting a few thousand phones. This isn’t the first issue facing the iPhone 5S. In early October reports emerged that some iPhone 5s smartphones had issues with their built-in compass and level. Some users have claimed that the compass software is off by 2-3 degrees and the level is off by as much as 4-6 degrees.
Apple has not acknowledged the issue but is believed to be working on a fix that will be released in a future software update for the iPhone 5S. The company’s other recently-launched smartphone, iPhone 5C, has not faced any of the issues being reported with the 5S.
If you think your iPhone 5S’s battery is depleting faster than it normally should, your best bet is to contact Apple or make a reservation at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store and have an Apple employee check it out.
