ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s Member National Assembly, Sumaira Malik has been declared ineligible by the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC).
The Supreme Court of Pakistan declared degree of Sumaira Malik null and void while her 2008 notification is also declared invalid.
According to The News Tribe Correspondent, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry headed three members apex court along with Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja pronounced the decision today.
Malik Awan launched a civil complaint against PML-N’s Sumera Malik on behalf of fake degree issue. She was an elected representative of the assembly from NA-69 of Khushab in 2008.
Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s Hamid Khan represented Umar Aslam Awan’s case whereas Barrister Iftikhar Gilani defended Sumaira Malik.
A supporter of PML-N’s Sumera Malik fell to unconscious state on hearing SC verdict. The News Tribe Correspondent reported that she had fake degrees which lead to her disqualification by SC.
