PESHAWAR: Banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief said they would like to start negotiations with the Government of Pakistan and drone attacks must stop before any ceasefire, The News Tribe reported on Wednesday.
Talking to a Britain radio, Hakimullah Mehsud said government handed over the peace dialogues to media after All Parties Conference (APC) and Taliban don’t negotiate through media.
He denied the involvement of TTP in public places’ attacks and alleged that some powers seeking to divert hat in people of Pakistan towards Taliban with these actions.
TTP’s commander said Pakistani government not taken any serious steps for negotiations but TTP believed in serious negotiations.
Hakimullah said Pakistani government must obtain a formal announcement regarding negotiations.
TTP’s commander added that government should announce the names of ‘Jirga’ members for peace negotiations and TTP will own to provide any kind of security to the announced ‘Jirga’.
Hakimullah Mehsud said TTP will be ready to enter into a negotiations phase with the government “If drone attacks would stop”.
