WASHINGTON DC: People from different walks of life in United States seem anxious on Tuesday after the Washington Navy Yard gun rampage.
Many believe that its necessary now to adopt gun control law in the states while other think that government must be careful about mental illness treatment system.
“Its same like what happened with Edward Snowden, we must check our system to avoid this type of incidents” says former Navy SEAL, Jonathan Gilliam while discussing Navy Yard shooting.
Respondingg on restructurtion of mental illness treatment system, he said “its something we desperately need”.
Jonathan Gilliam was of the opinion that “Banning guns is not the solution”.
Many other like Jonathan Gillian are against banning the guns in United States. They believe that after banning guns people who want to buy it legally can be restricted, but those who get the guns illegally can’t be stopped.
Journalists and TV anchors on different TV channels were also of the opinion that the Navy Yard incident was the “loss of common sense”.
Meanwhile, officials confirm that the Gunman was suffering from mental health issues and had undergone treatment for the illness in past.
Investigators are focusing on establishing motive in DC navy yard gun rampage but currently there is no clear reason from any side.
“We need to focus on a man and on a mental health system which needs to be improved,” Dr Keith, forensic psychiatrist said while discussing the post event effects.
“We also need to improve our VA mental health system,” he indicated.
Dr. Keith admitted that to take gun away from the people maybe good but insisted that we had to start it from the mental treatment.
Naval secretary Ray Mabus terms the event as the “suffering for Navy” saying “today we as a navy family suffered.”
