MURREE: Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) is likely to have its new general secretary as Chief Minister Pervez Khattak agrees to step from the post.
“Assuring to resign from the central post of the party, Khattak has imposed a condition to elect Jahangir Khan Tareen as the next general secretary,” says PTI official sources.
According to them, PTI’s central executive committee, the policy making group of the party, will be meeting on Sep 21 in Nathiagali, a tourists hot spot near Murree.
PTI has been facing pressure from internal circles to drop Khattak from the PTI post as he is serving as the CM of a province. But Khattak was reluctant to leave the post saying ‘I can leave chief minister ship but not PTI post.’
