LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways has resumed cargo services on trial basis after the termination of 5 years in order to facilitate passengers and traders.
Pakistan Railways’ officials announced for resuming the cargo services in order to tackle financial issues of the crisis-hit national department which was closed by former Railways’ Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour in 2008 for cut out fiscal burden.
The officials said that the railways department would generate significant profits via continuation of cargo services as well as facilitate locals for their domestic and consumer goods transportation.
It should be mentioned that the government-led department for goods’ transportation provides facilities to the local passengers and especially traders for moving their commodities on lowest rates as compare to private freight companies.
