ISLAMABAD: Local bodies’ election in cantonment areas across Pakistan entered in finalisation process as Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) completed all formal works.
ECP outlined policies related to local bodies elections in 43 cantonment constituencies throughout the country while ‘A’ list has also been prepared and at least participants will participate in the electoral process, sources said.
According to statement by EC, 20 cantonments from Punjab, 8 from Sindh, 11 from KPK and 4 from Balochistan will hold the elections.
In Punjab 114 wards, Sindh 40, KPK 32 and 11 wards in Balochistan will be competing in upcoming elections.
On the other hand, the election commission has also prepared draft of nomination papers which would be approved in coming week. The elections are expected to take place at the end of October in 43 different cantonments.
