Lahore: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has ordered to close down all illegal mobile SIMS from all mobile phone service operators.
In Pakistan, Ufone, Zong, Mobilink, Telenor and Warid province cell phone services.
While presiding over All Parties Conference (APC), District General (DG) rangers brief over the targeted operations in Karachi. During APC, the Prime Minister strictly order for shutting down illegal and unregistered SIM cards immediately.
Nawaz said that the law enforcement agencies must play their role to restore peace in Karachi. He said that we will also take judiciary on board to draft policies accordingly regarding law and order situation. He said that the people of Pakistan are hopeful of the right decision from the present government.
On the other hand, the cellular networks of the country are not in favour of installing biometric system. The cellular companies opposed the decision as no country implements biometric technology. They also said that it would check people who are alive but won’t prove whether person using a certain sim card is alive or not.
