Washington: American technological giant Apple is gearing up to launch its first device of the year likely iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, company confirm 10th September event.
Apple has sent out invitations to the press for a September 10 event, and unless the rumors are completely off-base, that’s when the company will announce the next iPhone.
Now just few days remaining in the event company likely to unveil its most anticipated devices likely iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.
The iPhone 5C has now leaked in multiple colors including pink, yellow, blue, black, white and green.
The alleged iPhone 5C donning a pink avatar is courtesy of Chinese site iApps.im. The site later posted more images of the iPhone 5C in boxes in several other hues (including the traditional white option), but later removed the images. However, 9to5Mac managed to get its hands on the images before they were removed.
“A few new photos claiming to show packaged ‘iPhone 5Cs’ and accompanying materials have surfaced online. The first photo comes from website iApps.im, and it purports to show several ‘iPhone 5C’ units in packaging. The ‘iPhone 5C’ is what many are calling Apple’s upcoming lower-cost, plastic-backed iPhone. The packaging in these photos appears to line up with a purported packaging leak from earlier this year…,” reports 9to5Mac.
The authenticity of these leaked images is circumspect, but the photos do fall in line with previous rumors that the budget iPhone 5C will come in an assortment of attractive color options.
Interestingly, the images show that the alleged iPhone 5C will come in iPod touch-type boxes. Apple usually packages its iPhones in a traditional black or white box, but the impending iPhone 5C seems to take a cue from the iPod packaging. Apple’s Pod nano currently sports the same hues leaked in these images and previous rumors have hinted that the iPhone 5C too would come in similar color options like the fifth-gen iPod touch.
It will be interesting to see if Apple also provides the matching “Loop” strap for the iPhone 5C, which it introduced last year for the iPod touch.
The iPhone 5C is expected to be made of plastic and will likely be priced between $400 and $500, making it less elitist when compared to previous smartphones from the company.
Or maybe iPhones. In addition to the requisite new-and-improved model, Apple’s expected to announce a low-cost “iPhone 5C.” Apple watchers like John Gruber have theorized that the iPhone 5C will stand in for the iPhone 4S on the lower end of the price spectrum, allowing every phone in Apple’s lineup to have a 4-inch screen and a Lightning connector cable. (Last year’s iPhone 5 introduced the larger screen and the new cable, and it, too, may also stick around as a slightly cheaper option.)
As for the iPhone 5S, as it’s being called, rumored features include a better camera, faster processor and maybe even a fingerprint reader. New color options, such as gold-colored plating, are rumored as well.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Pacific time. Our own Harry McCracken will be in attendance — check back here for complete live coverage.
