ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar indicated involvement of foreign handling found in Sikandar, who is the main character of Islamabad shooting drama on August 15, and assured for the further investigation.
While address in National Assembly about Sikandar, Chaudhry Nisar said that Islamabad shooting is not so simple as the incident points towards involvement of some officials and sensitive institutions and international mobsters, however, we shall expose this conspiracy.
The gunman, reportedly named as Sikandar, who was shot and arrested at Jinnah Avenue in Islamabad after he fired randomly in the air and refused to surrender his automatic arms despite police requests.
Nisar said that he cannot reveal everything before the House and he shall have no objection if the parliamentary leaders desire to reveal as it is one from the important issues of national interest.
The interior minister was responding to a point of order raised by Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmen Shah from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had questions on the capability of the security forces as well as government’s response to the incident.
Nisar said that he is answerable to the House but Islamabad shooting case should not be used for point point scoring and raising finger on performance of the government as we are all part of the war against terrorism for the last 12 years and decades old policies cannot be changed within days.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar proposed to form a National Security Committee of the House and offered to work under it.
Nisar said that whoever thinks the matter as too simple and wishes to gain some points by criticising is actually doing disservice to the country.
