Rawalpindi: Anti Terrorism court Rawalpindi has charged ex Army Chief and former president Parvez Musharraf and eight others in ex Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto murder case.
Former President, Parvez Musharraf was brought to court from sub jail at Chak Shahzad under high security today
BB assassination case was heard by ATC judge Chaudry Habib ur Rehman. The 8 pager charge sheet has inducted the names of the former President along with 8 others. However, Musharraf denied the charges mentioned.
According to the challan, Parvez Musharraf was charged under explosives act, murder and terrorism. On denial of the charges, the court gave August 27th to seek for evidences from the prosecutor.
Husnain Gul, Saud Aziz, Khurran Shahzad, Abdul Rashid, Sher Zaman, Rafaqat Hussain and Husnain Gul were the ones included in the case besides the former President of Pakistan, Parvez Musharraf.
In response, Parvez Musharraf said that this case was made on behalf of political enmity. He will prove he has no link to the case. He was provided bail by the court in BB case.
On August 6th the former president was ordered to be present in the court but couldn’t on behalf of the security threats. According to the police, Musharraf is faced with serious security risks and cannot be presented in the court because of high alert of the government.
FIA has prepared a charge sheet against the All Pakistan Muslim League founder and ex army chief Syed Parvez Musharraf based on the statement by Mark Siegel. Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also announced a high treason case to be launched for abrogating the constitution against Musharraf.
The former president was charge sheeted in Benazir’s murder case weeks after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced that high treason case against him would be initiated for abrogating the constitution.
