ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced on Friday the appointment of Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani as chief election commissioner of Pakistan.
ECP released notification for his appointment of while Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani will be administered to oath on tomorrow, local Pakistani media reported.
Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani had performed duties as acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and took oath for post as acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) on May 27.
It is pertinent to note, former Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ibrahim had resigned from his post just after a day announcing new president of the country.
Fakhruddin G Ibrahim had also excused for continuation of work on his post till upcoming local bodies election in Pakistan.
