Lahore: The 14th August celebrations turned sour as Lahore was under the siege of heavy rainfall.
Lahore areas of Qadafi Stadium, Mughalpura, Dharampura, Do Moria Bridg, Haji Camp, Empress Road and Lakshmi Chowk suffered torrential rains trapping 5 due to roof fall.
Besides that Anarkali road, Shahi Qila and Jail Road was filled with rainwater which rose to danger level. A very little progress was made to provide relief work possible for the poor residents. Everything there seemed to have drowned under standing water.
In another event at Zafarwal, 20 villages were ordered to be evacuated by the authorities. In Kamonki, woman died as a result of roof collapse. In Narowal, Kandiala similar incident occurred but no loss have been reported thus far.
