LAHORE: Chief Coach of Pakistan Hockey Team has expelled Shakil Abbasi on fasting during the training camp.
“We do not allow players to have fast during the camp,” Akthar Rasool said while explaining his directive of expelling the leading striker of the Green Shirts.
“There is compensation of having fasting, but there is no compensation for not preparing for hockey.”
The players have been going through training for Asian Hockey Cup, scheduled in upcoming days.
Shakeel Abbasi is an international field hockey player from Pakistan and plays Centre Forward. He made his international debut for Pakistan in 2003.
Pakistan’s centre forward Shakeel Abbasi was declared player of the tournament in Hockey Champions Trophy 2012 played from 1-9 December at the State Netball Hockey Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
