ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has showed their reservations on Wednesday over Supreme Court of Pakistan’s decision for over modification in schedule of presidential election.
PPP top leadership has conducted a press conference in Islamabad for protesting over SC’s decision for changing schedule of Presidential Election and expressed their thoughts to reconsider participation in presidential election.
PPP’s presidential candidate Raza Rabbani told the mediapersons that election commission announced a slanted decision by listening only one side while the other stances were totally avaoided.
Raza Rabbani said that the decision affected my presidential campaign and how can I complete my electoral campaign in four provinces in only 3 to 4 days.
Rabbani said that Pakistan People’s Party belives in the continuousness of democracy in Pakistan and favours power transfer in appropriate manner.
Senior PPP leader and famous lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan was also present in the media conference and he said that we are not ready to accept supreme court’s wrong decision.
Ahsan alleged that SC avoided to listen other stakesholders except Nawaz Sharif while ECP was not informed before giving the decision.
Ahsan said that PPP is reconsidering to participate in upcoming presidential election after the SC’s decision and they will contact their coalition partners on the matter.
