ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s foreign ministry has finalised on Wednesday to appoint new ambassadors in 20 countries.
Pakistan foreign affairs department has decided on Wednesday to change the ambassadors appointed in 20 foreign countries, sources said.
The sources said that the foreign dept decided the change in key post in different countries as the current ambassadors have completed their job’s tenure.
According to The News Tribe reports on May 27, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs instructed some ambassadors and high commissioners deployed in different countries to prepare themselves for their return to Pakistan.
The reports disclosed some names who likely to be returned in Pakistan, the 15 ambassadors including Wajid Shamsul Hasan (United Kingdom), Salman Basher (India), Masood Khan (Pak delegate for United Nations) , Jamil Ahmed Khan (United in United Arab Emirates and Nawabzada Aminullah Khan Raisani (Oman) had received instructions to prepare themselves till the final return notices after the formation of government.
The decision came forward after the briefing by Secretary Foreign Affairs Jalil Abbas Jilani to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders regarding the country’s foreign policies and deployed Pakistani ambassadors around world.
According to reports, Secretary Foreign Affairs Jalil Abbas Jilani has provided initial briefing to the top leadership of Pakistan’s largest emerged political party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
During the briefing, the foreign ministry official told the PML-N leadership that some ambassadors were selected for the post on basis of political influence and personal recommendation while in six countries retired military officers had been deployed.
