KABUL: Advisor on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz has conveyed Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s message to Afghan President Hamid Karzai during his official visit on Sunday.
Aziz delivered the message sent by PM Sharif that Afghanistan peace and stability is in interest of Pakistan and maximum support will be provided for efforts for implementation of law and order and reconciliation process.
The advisor invited Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai to visit Pakistan for enrichment of bilateral interest and friendship ties between neighbouring countries.
Aziz added that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made an important policy statement that Pakistan will not interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan and that we support no particular sides.
He said that Pakistan is willing to help peace talks between the Afghan government and Taliban to end years long war in Afghanistan if the parties request Islamabad’s help.
”In the future, to the extent we are requested, we can play the same role but at the appropriate time and in consultation with other interested parties,” Aziz said.
