PESHAWAR: Following the footstep of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)’s Shehbaz Sharif in previous tenure during 2012, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) belonged Pervez Khattak will lead the anti load shedding protests in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa government.
PTI provincial assembly members has announced in a combined press conference for organising demonstrations across the province from tomorrow against load shedding.
Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) belonged Pervez Khattak will lead the protests while each MPA has been informed to participate in the demonstrations with the public of related constituency.
It is pertinent to note, Shahbaz Sharif, during the premiership of Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf, had organised dozens of protests against loadshedding across Punjab province to pressurize federal government and directly blamed President Asif Zardari.
CM Sharif had successfully increased pressure on the federal government as well as gained public confidence through the protests.
However, PTI leaders said that related authorities were contacted on the issue but no action has been taken till yet and huge gathering is scheduled on tomorrow to end electricity crisis in the province.
According to PTI leaders, Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) chief was contacted several times to discuss load shedding problem but it resulted only silence.
The leaders added that Grid Station will be surrounded on July 15 if related authorities failed to end unscheduled load shedding across the province till tomorrow morning.
They all claimed that KPK province has been treated on discriminatory basis hence protest will be organised against federal and Punjab’s governments.
